Spicy Camaron Rebosado (Deep Fried Beer Battered Shrimp)

Spicy Camaron Rebosado (Deep Fried Beer Battered Shrimp)

Spicy Camaron Rebosado are Deep-Fried Battered Shrimp. I used beer as part of the batter along with some cayenne pepper powder. This makes this version of camaron rebosado tastier and spicier. Everyone enjoyed it.

Spicy Camaron Rebosado

I cooked this today with the intent of serving as an appetizer. However, it turned out to be a main dish (which it should have been). I had some cocktail sauce in the middle of the plate to make it look pretty. That was just a prop because I was lazy to make sweet and sour sauce today. I ended up using the cocktail sauce as a dip for fresh oysters (which was my appetizer), while all of us enjoyed the deep fried beer battered shrimp with a dip composed of soy sauce and calamansi.

The beer is an optional ingredient. I like to use it often when making a batter because it really helps provide flavor. You may use plain water as a substitute for beer.

I used cayenne pepper powder to make this camaron rebosado version spicy. It is convenient to have in your pantry. You may use hot sauce or Sriracha sauce as an alternative to cayenne pepper powder.
